You may have seen an earlier video from last year, of Alex and Jasmina’s surprise proposal at the airport, as Jasmina and her friend returned from two weeks in Europe. This past Sunday, Jasmina invited the women in her family and her wide circle of friends to celebrate with her in a bridal shower themed in the love of romance and travel.
This was a tremendously fun shoot, but hectic as it was a single-shooter coverage event. This short highlight film was covered with two Canon EOS 60D’s looking through a Sigma 35mm F1.4, a Tokina 11-16mm F2.8, a Canon 100mm Macro F2.8, a Canon 135mm F2.0, and a nifty-fifty. Both 60D’s were supported by a Manfrotto BHDV-561-1 Monopod, an ancient set of Manfrotto sticks below a 501 fluid video head, and a Glidecam HD2000. Sound was yanked in by a set of RODE VideoMic Pros, and a Sony ECM wired lav plugged into a Zoom H1, and haphazardly velcro’d onto the main speaker of the event, Maryanne (what a good sport). Post-prod was done entirely in FCPx, supported by PluralEyes 3, and a pot of coffee.
I’m so looking forward to Alex and Jasmina’s wedding, although I won’t be shooting it since I’m in the bridal party!
